[GRAVITY] Diablo 3 just broke the sales records in PC Gaming!

24 May

Ever since the launch date, Diablo 3 has been a hot shelf item in any game store across the globe. Proof of which is that the game broke sales record and has become the fastest selling pc game.

Within the first 24 hour on the release date of Diablo 3, the title has sold more than 3.5 million copies. By the end of the week, the said amount reached 6.4 million and the said values as stated by Blizzard do not include the digital purchase of the game in Korea Internet gaming kiosks wherein Diablo 3 was the top-rated game in an instant.

To me this is just too obvious. I mean, we waited for years and years and Blizzard teased us right down to the bone-marrow. Of course anyone would want to play it especially with 3 guest passes that have not failed to entice any PC gamer out in the woods.

Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment has a few words to say about the said phenomena.

“We’re definitely thrilled that so many people around the world were excited to pick up their copy of Diablo III and jump in the moment it went live”.

“We also regret that our preparations were not enough to ensure everyone had a seamless experience when they did so. I want to reaffirm our commitment to make sure the millions of Diablo III players out there have a great experience with the game moving forward, and I also want to thank them for their ongoing support.”

I’ll wait till blizzy fix that ridiculous “always online” needed to play a $60++ single player option. No really, when i’m able to play freely anytime anywhere on a SINGLE PLAYER mode, I’ll buy it.

I’m pretty sure this is what Blizzard will say to that:

      “Not gonna happen”.

Seriously $59.99 USD for a standard box is a small amount to pay for a great game. Give it a try first and you’d see why it was able to hit those numbers above. The only time that SINGLE PLAYERS OFFLINE will be available will be with hacks and cracks aka piracy.

I don’t support piracy on games and movies ever since I got a job.

Oh no, it has nothing to do with piracy, it’s about the freedom if gaming. Don’t get me wrong, i could by 6 copies of these right now if i wanted to.

The reason i (and others) prefer an offline single player is that some of us play this thing mobile. I have an Alienware M17x Gaming Laptop. And to think the only time i can play D3 is when there is a WiFi or i plugged in my mobile usb Modem is rather ridiculous.

Being the active working man i am, i game on the go. Some of us do it this way.

And the need to be “always online” just kills it, not every place we go have the luxury of a stable wireless signal (via usb modem) or a stable enough WiFi to keep the “always on” feature choke free and NOT boot us out in the middle of the game, which causes death, also loss of item durabilites. This is the reason we don’t buy it.

No, i’m not bashing D3 in its physical form and content, i’m bashing at that one silly excuse of a DRM. I’m going to buy the original game, i’m WILLING to support blizzy. But i’ll do that once an offline crack is available and i get my money’s worth, this is a preference thing.
